JOE LIRENTI
I’m a 27-year-old artist based in São Paulo, Brazil, working across music, photography, body, and space. My approach is shaped by context and collaboration — starting from atmosphere, process, and concept rather than fixed outcomes. My work moves between mediums and follows a set of recurring themes: texture, decay, and the tension between structure and looseness.
Each project — whether mixing a record, tattooing, scoring a film, or building a zine — acts as a vessel for something specific, often fragile or unresolved. I’m drawn to dissonance and distortion, not as style, but as ways of expressing vulnerability. I often collaborate with artists in different countries, responding to shifting conditions — environmental, psychological, and formal.

This trilogy of multimedia works marks a convergence between my musical practice and other tactile languages — photography, print, and tattoo. Developed between São Paulo and Tokyo, the project explores themes of spirituality, love, and urban surfaces. Each chapter includes an album, a printed booklet with original photographs, and in some cases, a catalog of tattoo designs.
Conluio Etéreo 幽玄霊交
Release date: August 15, 2025
The first part of the trilogy was born from a period of spiritual isolation and self-initiation. The sound merges hauntological structures with Italian occult psychedelia and traces of electro-industrial. It’s the most playful work of the three, balancing dissonance and lightness. The booklet includes a series of black-and-white photographs and a collection of tattoo designs already been applied on the skin. It's a ritualized work of art, where I'm changed alongside my collaborators who received the tattoos.

This second chapter shifts toward a more organic and emotionally exposed terrain. Written between late 2024 and early 2025, it replaces rhythm with space and stillness. The accompanying booklet presents photographs taken during my first trip to Japan in March 2025 — capturing fragile contrasts between nature, concrete, and emotional distance. The music reflects a different kind of transition — not spiritual, but deeply emotional. During this period, I was slowly entering a relationship with someone who is presumably the love of my life. My trip to Japan, in March 2025, became the climax of that story: a time marked by handwritten letters and an intensifying connection. Traces of this relationship are scattered throughout the booklet, in the form of brief texts and visual fragments — suspended between presence and absence.
Dermiscapes: Epiderme Urbana 表皮景観
Release date: August 29, 2025
Composed after returning from Tokyo, Dermiscapes is the most deconstructed piece of the trilogy. Built partialy from textures found in the streets of São Paulo, the sound dissolves rhythm and melody in favor of density, decay, and drone. The printed catalog presents a collection of tattoo designs developed from the visual and sonic textures of the project. Unlike Conluio Etéreo, these tattoos haven’t yet been applied and are available for real-world translation — a proposed dialogue between skin, urban material, and listening.
